ABOUT ME

Joanna Morea—vocalist, flutist, saxophonist, lyricist, composer, and arranger, graduate of the Royal Conservatory in Brussels in the Jazz and Entertainment Music Department, flute class.

She has performed in Belgium (including the Middleheim Jazz Festival in Antwerp, Belgium, with the Marie Schneider Orchestra, one of the most significant festivals in Belgium), the Netherlands, Germany, England, and currently, after a long break, not only maternity, again in Poland. She is currently collaborating with many musicians and musical formations, including Wojtek Kamiński’s Trio, Five O’Clock Orchestra, Ragtime Jazz Band, Ragtime Duo, and Malmo Jazz Kings (Sweden). She recorded and released the album “Śpiewanki Joanki,” which consists of compositions prepared for her twins—Nel and Tymonek. She is also the author of the music for the album “Będę Mamą” Mamą”—with relaxing music for pregnant women.

In 2012, an album titled “Swing Is Everything” was released, recorded by Joanna Morea with The Mark Shepherd Swing Quartet.

Since her return to the stage in 2009, she has performed at many jazz and festival stages.

In 2014, she played at the Złota Tarka festival as a special guest with the Ragtime Jazz Band alongside Molly Ryan (USA), Dan Levinson (USA), and Jack Anderson (Sweden). In 2016, she presented the Polish Scandinavian Connection project at Złota Tarka.

In June 2017, she performed in the formation “Dymitr Markiewicz and His All Stars” alongside stars such as Gunhild Carling (Sweden), Bent Persson (Sweden), Max Björn Valdemar Carling (Sweden), and Claus Jacobi (Netherlands) during the Hot Jazz Spring Festival in Częstochowa. In 2018, she toured with jazz stars like Troy Anderson (USA), with whom she created the Ella & Louis project, and the Carling Family (Sweden).

In 2017, the formation Joanna Morea and Her Swinging Boys was created. In March 2017, the album “Crazy People” was released, recorded in collaboration with Urszula Dudziak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, and Robert Majewski.

The year 2018 saw the creation of the project “Joanna Morea with Power” and the formation “Joanna Morea with Swing on Air.”

In 2021, Joanna’s original album—Twilight Cafe: Smooth Jazz for a Romantic Evening—was released by Soliton.

Collaboration with the Non-Invasive Personality Institute resulted in a series of albums for learning English titled “Nuć i się ucz,” co-authored and performed by Joanna Morea.

From 2015 to December 2024, Joanna hosted an original radio program on Radio RSC 88.6 FM titled “Pociąg do Jazzu.”
